From my recent trip to Shanghai for the Music China 2018 Trade Show I stumbled upon a booth also from Taiwan selling mouthpieces. I tried the alto first and was blown away at the response it had on my horn. I also grabbed a tenor piece and it has become my number one piece for my tenor.

Tommy Alvarado is a world-renowned saxophonist, vocalist and percussionist and has toured and performed with Boyz 2 Men, Joe Cocker, Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, Barry White, Pauline Wilson, James Brown, Wayne Brady, Bruce Conte (Tower of Power), El Chicano, and a host of others. He also toured with the Solid Gold Dance Party headlining with The Village People, Peaches and Herb, Taste Of Honey, France Joli, Maxine Nightengale, Anita Ward and Thelma Houston. Being a transplant from California he is well respected within the Las Vegas musical community since 1996.


Since 2011 Tommy Alvarado has performed with " Human Nature" at The Venetian Hotel & Casino & Imperial Palace, playing tenor, alto saxophones and percussion. Smokey Robinson has given his endorsement to the show called the " Ultimate celebration Of Motown". He now tours with Human Nature all over the U.S. Nd the world and is Featured in a PBS Special that aired in December of 2017.


Tommy has made Las Vegas his home since 1996. His first 3 years in town were spent traveling from home to the airport while on tour. Tommy temporarily retired from the road in 1998 as has been performing his own unique blend of adult contemporary music using his sax and vocal skills. Whether it be smooth Jazz or Latin, Tommy is comfortable in all types of music including R&B, funk and swing dance music. Diane Diaz hired Tommy as her musical director for his first year at the Bellagio.


Tommy went on to form his group called "Forty Something". That group stayed at The Bellagio for another year till Tommy wanted his own name in lights. With the help of the Entertainment Director he started his own group and performed in the "Allegro Lounge". He was contacted by the world famous "Blue Note Jazz Club" where he headlined for one year in the main room then went on to host the "Blue Note Jazz Jam Session" for yet another year. Since the closing of the Blue Note Tommy has performed for almost two years at the "Mandalay Bay".
